President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic sent a telegram of condolences to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo following the passenger airplane crashing into the Java Sea. The condolence message reads as follows:

 "It is with great sadness that I received the news about the crash of the passenger plane into the Java Sea which claimed dozens of lives.

On behalf of the people of Serbia and on my own behalf, I extend the expressions of deepest condolences to the Indonesian Government and people, and to the families who lost their loved ones", reads the telegram from President Vucic.
